Website Strategy vs Tactics

What's your social media strategy? Having a facebook fan page or tweeting everyday is not a social media strategy, it's what you do with those tools that raises you from the level of tactics to the level of strategy.

[Online Marketing Strategy] Three steps to a better "social media strategy"

Operating at the level of 'tactics' may mean you are investing a lot of time into your social media marketing but not necessarily seeing a lot of return on that effort.

So how do we 'shift it up a gear' to the level of Results. How do you create an effective social media strategy?

Essentially, it is about undertsanding how each of your social media platforms ties in with each other and with your overall marketing picture as a whole. Are you sending out a consistent marketing message? Does everything link together? How do you integrate your social media networking with your offline networking? Where do you take people to continue building the relationship?

As we continue along this series, a common them is most definitely emerging. And that theme is:

"Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat." Sun Tzu
